![]() My tester was a Malay man, probably in his late 30s/early 40s. One by one, the testers came by the waiting area to call their candidates. The testers will pick their candidates by drawing their ICs from the box. ![]() I ended my warm-up at around 1:15pm, then deposited my IC with a slip of paper they gave into a small box. I’m not sure if we were supposed to go out onto the roads for warm-up, but if we were, I didn’t manage to do so before I had to go back to the waiting area. People take multiple tries to pass, at most need to fork out another $400 to retake (+revision lessons) which is definitely not good but that’s the worst case scenario. So I had to do corrective actions around 3-4 times to get into the lot without striking kerb (do too many times will be Immediate Failure).Īt this point, I wasn’t really panicking, but more of trying to pre-empt/ reassure myself that I might fail today because I’m not used to the car, and that’s okay. I also forgot that I was supposed to do my right turn into directional change slightly later so that my car is not too much to the right. ![]() Also somehow my turning points were slightly different from that in the usual training cars, which made me mess up a couple of stations and I had to do many corrective actions/ reversing that I never had to do before in my lessons. It took some time for me to get used to the biting point. We went around the circuit doing the 7 stations that will be tested later – parallel parking, vertical parking, slope, S-course, crank course, directional change, e-brake. The feel of it was quite new compared to the older cars we use for learning. Felt reassured and thankful for him to 为我加油打气 (cheer me on).Īfter making the one big round, going into the lobby and meeting my warm-up instructor (first time having a female instructor), we headed to my test car. He told me, “It’s okay, take your time to walk in from main entrance, don’t let this affect your test!” He also asked me if it’s my first time taking – I said yes – he wished me all the best and hope that I pass on first attempt. Really nice of him that he tried helping me to nego with the uncle, but in the end really cannot. Just then, I met one of my instructors – I remembered him because he taught me how to do vertical parking properly and also took me for evaluation. I was thinking like oh no now I need to make one big round and I’m already late, but I guess it’s okay as it’s just warm-up first (in hindsight, no it’s not just warmup!). Walked all the way into the carpark, then the uncle on duty told me I cannot go in from that entrance, need to go main entrance to scan my IC, take temperature and scan SafeEntry. I arrived at BBDC on the dot and went to the wrong entrance LOL – thought I could go in from the side gate as that’s where manual students usually enter and wait for their instructors. I booked my test on (Wed) early afternoon. I think he mentioned that Saturday mornings are fine too. This is probably due to heavier traffic which makes lane changing more difficult. I asked one of my instructors when is a good date/time to book my test – he said weekdays are generally okay, just try to avoid the first, second and last time slot. ![]() lane changing on roads, short lane changes within circuit, and parkings. I went for 4 revision lessons to increase confidence and to work on my weaker areas e.g. Waiting time for test date is about 2 weeks, during which you can go for revision lessons. Thank God that I passed on my first attempt with 18 demerit points! Really did not expect to pass, which I will explain why in a bit.įor BBDC learners, you’ll be able to book your TP test date after passing Stage 5.01 (evaluation) and completing your FTT, the 3 TPDS modules and auto car lesson (you can refer to BBDC website for more info). ![]()
